One Manhattan Company check book of Gerard Beekman from 1827 to 1833. The checks indicate that Beekman was doing much of the financial work for the female members of the Beekman family and that he engaged extensively in real estate transactions. He made many loans on mortgages and made many payments to Martin E. Thompson. There are also frequent checks for groceries.
